49 MW #Lithium-ion power station in #UK to be one of the world’s largest

#German energy storage pioneer Younicos is designing one of the world’s largest and most sophisticated battery-based energy storage systems for Centrica in the #UK.

To be completed by winter 2018, the 49 megawatt (MW) #Lithium-ion system will respond to fluctuations in electrical demand in less than a second.
