An “App Store” for industry
Last week, #GeneralElectric hosted its fourth annual #MindsAndMachines conference in #SanFrancisco, #California. The three-day event focused on the state of the #IndustrialInternet, which can be thought of as the Internet of Things for industrial applications like #Manufacturing, #PowerGeneration, and #Aviation. More than 1,000 customers, software developers, industry leaders, and #GE partners attended.
During the conference, GE launched several services that combine software, Internet-connected machines, and analytics, aimed at improving industrial productivity in real time. The main takeaway from the event was that General Electric is quickly transforming itself into a digital industrial company, capable of leading the world through the next industrial era.
