#Barrick suspends operations at mine in #Argentina after leak

#Barrick Gold Corp. said on Thursday that it is temporarily suspending operations at its #Veladero mine in #Argentina following a new leak.

Argentine authorities fined Barrick $9.3 million earlier this year after a 2015 cyanide spill at the mine in the western province of San Juan.

#BMW And #GE Invest $80 Million Into Carbon3D To Bring #3DPrinting Into Mass Manufacturing

#Carbon3D, a hot #3DPrinting startup promising production speeds of up to 100 times faster than traditional printers, is raising $81 million from a number of big name manufacturers hoping to adopt the technology.

#GE and #BMW have aspirations of incorporating Carbon3D’s machine, called the M1, into their manufacturing lines. BMW has already started placing Carbon3D’s printer in its #Germany production facilities. Optics specialist #Nikon and chemical company #JSR are both #Japanese and will help Carbon3D enter the Japanese market.
