Platinum to outperform gold in coming quarters: BofA Merrill Lynch

The premium of platinum to gold prices will likely widen in the coming quarter due to monetary tightening and rising interest rates in the US, analysts with Bank of America Merrill Lynch said Tuesday.
“Given an acceleration of growth especially in [developing markets] and tighter monetary policy in the quarters ahead, we believe cyclical metals like platinum will outperform gold in the coming quarters,” BofA Merrill Lynch analysts said in a report.
