SINGAPORE — Japan’s Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp. and China’s Baoshan Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. (Baosteel) will invest 1.1 billion yuan ($178 million) to build a fourth hot-dipped galvanizing line for their joint venture in Shanghai.

“This is a major investment for capacity increase following the third hot-dip galvanizing line, which was put into operation in 2010,” the Japanese steelmaker said Sept. 5.
